The most important ingredient to an outstanding summer is the talented men and women who make up our counselor staff.
Step 1: Are We a Match For You?
Do your research. Make sure Falling Creek fits your philosophy and feels like the right place for you. Above all else, everyone at camp needs to want to work with children. If you’re male, you’ll likely be a cabin counselor and teach an activity or two. If you’re female, you won’t live in a cabin with campers, but everything else is the same.
Step 2: Apply to Work at Falling Creek
Everyone must complete our online application. Our directors read every completed application thoroughly (View our Application Tips). They will review your qualifications and experience to determine if you are the right fit for Falling Creek.
Step 3: The Personal Interview
After we’ve reviewed your application, we’ll schedule a phone interview. Applicants are also welcome to come to camp for an interview in person, or we can arrange a trip to meet you at your school. Please plan for at least an hour when scheduling the interview.
Step 4: We’re Not Done Yet! But You’re Close!
We think you’re pretty special if you’re at this point. But we have several more steps to complete on our end before offering you a contract for employment.
We’ll check the references you listed in your application, we’ll run a criminal background check, sex offender database check, and a social media check. For full-time and returning staff, background checks are processed annually prior to the summer.
If that is all satisfactory, a camp director will contact you for a final phone interview before formally offering you a position and sending a contract.
Thank you Yates and Marisa for hiring incredible individuals, running an amazing camp, and bringing three generations of men in our family closer together!
