Meet your 2025 Leadership Team, the Lineheads and Assistant Lineheads who will be leading our camper and staff groups this summer!
Sorrel
Starting with Sorrel, the youngest Cabin Line at camp… your Linehead and Assistant Linehead for the summer will be Johnny “Beans” Ervin and Michael Mullen!
Beans is from Chicago, Illinois and is currently studying Secondary Education and History at William and Mary. After being a camper for 7 years (’13-‘19), we’re excited to have Beans back for his third summer on staff, teaching climbing wall and swimming.
Assisting him will be Michael, from Charlotte, North Carolina. Michael is currently studying Finance and Accounting with a minor in Economics at Emory University. He was a camper for 10 years (’13-‘22) and we’re excited to have Michael back for his second summer on staff.
Having both been campers themselves, Beans and Michael are the perfect fit for helping our youngest campers begin their Falling Creek journey. They’ll lead by example as they both know how to have fun at camp!
Tsuga
Our next 2025 Leadership Team reveal is for Tsuga, the second youngest Cabin Line…🥁 Your Linehead and Assistant Linehead for the summer will be Santiago Garcia de Villa and Rex Bowen!
Santiago is from Puebla, Mexico and is currently a student at Universidad IBERO Puebla, pursuing a degree in mechatronics engineering. This is his 3rd year on staff, and you can often find Santiago at Lake Summit, sharing his sailing knowledge! “A successful summer for me would be to sail a lot, have fun, meet new and meet old friends.”
Assisting him will be Rex, from Houston, Texas. Rex is currently pursuing a degree in Radio, Television, and Film at the University of Texas at Austin. He was a camper for 8 years (’10-‘17), and we’re excited Rex will be back for his second year on staff, teaching basketball!
Current campers will remember how much fun both Santiago and Rex are to be around, and they’re the perfect fit for leading our Tsuga campers.
Robinia
Robinia, your Linehead and Asst. Linehead for the summer will be Whit Flickinger and Ben Farmer!
Whit is from Dallas, Texas and is currently pursuing a degree in Music Education at Texas State University. He was a camper for 8 years (’12-‘19) and we’re excited to have him back on staff for his 3rd year! Whit is teaching climbing wall in addition to being the Robinia Linehead.
Assisting him will be Ben, from Charlotte, NC, who is currently a student at Hampden-Sydney University. Ben was a camper for 8 years (’12-‘19) and taught F.A.R.M. and nature last summer. We’re excited that he’s returning this summer as Assistant Linehead for Robinia!
After being campers together for nearly a decade, Whit and Ben are the perfect match to lead the next generation of campers this summer. Robinia is one lucky Line!

Betula, your Linehead and Assistant Linehead for the summer will be Jackson Schlierf and AJ Johnson!
Jackson is from Buffalo, NY and graduated from Aquinas College in Spring 2024 with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and a minor in Athletic Coaching. He’s returning for his 3rd year on staff at Falling Creek, teaching soccer and ultimate frisbee, before starting his Masters in Physical Education.

We’re excited that AJ is returning for his 2nd year on staff, teaching football and F.A.R.M. “I’m looking forward to building strong relationships with others this summer, and meeting new people.”
Jackson and AJ are great role models for our oldest campers, bringing a balance of maturity and fun to the Betula Line.
