Inaugural ACA and Chaco Footwear Work At Camp Virtual Event
Working at camp is for everyone!
On April 9th, the American Camp Association and Chaco Footwear came together to host a virtual gathering of camp professionals, sharing the many employment opportunities available at camps across the country.

This online gathering was the inaugural #WorkAtCamp event, hosted by the American Camp Association and Chaco Footwear. Falling Creek’s own Andy Killebrew was one of the selected “thought leaders” for the event!
Andy joined a great panel of recent/current staff to talk about the personal and professional growth they gained from their camp experiences. As a former summer counselor who now works at Falling Creek full-time, Andy has ample knowledge to share about what it’s like to work as a camp professional.
Andy is one of Falling Creek’s Assistant Program and Staff Directors, where he manages our themed programming and summertime group events, oversees several activities, and works to recruit, manage, and train summer staff. Andy joined the full-time team in 2022, and identified the core values of service, community, personal development, and love as contributing to his connection with camp.
In addition to sharing how camp can lead to a full-time professional role, the #WorkAtCamp panel discussed internships at camp, and how working at camp can lead to employment opportunities in youth development. Many different types of positions were showcased, with examples from several great camps in different areas of the country.
