Staff Forms: The What, Why, When, and How

Look! Summer is just around the corner!

Working at camp may be more fun that your typical office job, but like any job there’s still some paperwork that has to be completed before the summer can begin. You might be confused by what each form is, where to fill it out, and what its purpose is.

This blog can act as your cheat sheet to getting your forms organized and filled out so you can be “adventure ready” by the time Staff Orientation starts.

These forms are due on May 1st, which is coming up soon! Below you’ll find where, how, and why to complete each form.

This is what your dashboard looks like when you log into your CampInTouch account, through Campminder.

CampInTouch

Log into your CampInTouch account to find these forms and documents. This platform is also where you can access the daily photos posted during the summer, and where you can update your contact information.

Physician’s Exam Form

  • What: This is what you’ll take to your doctor during a scheduled Physical Exam. It should be printed out and taken to the appointment, so the doctor can fill it out. The form has instructions on how to return the completed version, either via fax, through your CampInTouch account, or via the Campanion app.
  • Why: This ensures that everyone working at camp is healthy and ready to safely participate in an active summer.

Online Health Form

  • What: This is an online form completed by the staff member (you). It takes about 10 minutes.
  • Why: This lets camp know of any allergies, pertinent health history, medications, dietary needs, and healthcare provider contacts so we have everything we need to make sure you’re supported and cared for this summer.

Staff Photo & Bio Questions

  • What: The photo should be a smiling headshot (not selfie) where we can easily see your face, without sunglasses or a hat, preferably outside in natural light. The bio questions help us introduce you to other staff and to camp families before you meet in person. You’ll share your name, any preferred nicknames, and responses about your interests, hobbies, and current work or school. If you have any questions about this, you can email Annie .
  • Why: We upload your photo and a short description about you to the “Meet Our Staff” page on our website. This is how parents and new campers can see who will be working at camp this summer, and put a name to your face before they meet you on Opening Day. It’s also fun for fellow staff to see who else will be on the mountain this summer!
Workbright is a remote onboarding software that helps us securely verify important forms and information.

  • What: -Tax forms (international staff without a Social Security Number can wait and fill these out once at camp)
    -Travel form
    -Direct deposit form
    -Applicable certifications
  • Why: These onboarding documents give us the personal information needed to write pay checks, know when/how you’re arriving at camp, and keep necessary certifications organized.

Expert Online Training

  • What: Log into the Expert Online Training account to watch the pre-orientation videos. These should be completed BEFORE arriving at camp.
  • Why: We complete these videos with the safety of our campers and the rest of the camp community at the top of our mind, so there is no misunderstanding about what kinds of actions are unacceptable when working with youth or working at camp.

The start of orientation on May 30th is coming up quickly, and the due date for these forms (May 1st) will be here even sooner! If you have any questions about these forms, feel free to reach out to us.
