FCC Staff Huddle: Jan/Feb 2026

The “FCC Staff Huddle” Newsletter

Jan/Feb 2026

Bring it in close for the FCC Staff Huddle! The following was emailed out to all our staff in January.

We’ll send out a new edition of The Huddle every couple of months to keep you informed on the latest staff news at Falling Creek Camp. Email if you’re not already recieving the full newsletter in your inbox!

These five counselors had a mini #campcommunity reunion in Arlington, VT!

Happy New Year! See You Soon?

Many of you return to your campus this week, and here at camp, we’re looking forward to visiting some of those campuses in the months ahead. At this point of the year, we’re looking primarily for adventure staff and for male cabin counselors. If you know some guys that might take an interest, please send them our way and consider introducing us if we’re going to be on your campus soon. We know for sure we’ll be at:

  • Furman University in SC on January 22
  • University of TN - Chattanooga on January 27-28
  • Sewanee in TN on Jan 29
  • Gardner-Webb University in NC on February 3
  • Converse University in SC on February 3
  • App State in NC on February 11
  • Warren Wilson College in NC on February 11
  • Brevard College in NC on February 17

We may add some more trips in late February and early March, so stay current with the latest travel plans through the College Tours page of the team website. Don’t forget about that $400 referral bonus for a new staff member - think male cabin counselor!

A Call In February, and Forms to Complete

It’s always fun to turn the corner into the new year and look straight ahead at the coming summer. In order to get all of us ready and on the same page, we plan to hold two All-Staff Google Meet video calls: one on February 4th and and one in late April (date TBD). More details to come, but pencil it in for 8pm eastern on 2/4, and we’ll look forward to seeing you then!

Completing and submitting forms will also become important in the months ahead. Your physician’s exam form and a couple other forms are now available in your CampInTouch account, so take a look and go ahead and schedule that doctor’s appointment! Other forms will become available soon in WorkBright as well…stay tuned!

Bookend Your Summer with the Father/Son Weekend Events!

Just like in 2025, this year we’ll have three Father/Son Weekends in May, with a fourth and final Father/Son Weekend in August. We love to see our veteran staff come back to camp and serve during these fun and important weekends.

If you think you could join us May 8-10, 15-17 or 22-24…or even possibly August 21-23 (and we haven’t already discussed it with you), please fill out this brief Weekend Event Interest Form, and we’ll be in touch!

Making Travel Plans and Getting Connected

It might feel like summer is a long way off at the moment, but we know some of you will need to start making travel plans pretty soon. When you do, especially those who are flying, please remember to book those arrival flights within 24 hours of the start date on your contract. We’ll provide shuttles from AVL and GSP at noon and at 6 pm the day before contracts start, and also at noon on those contract start dates.

You’ll need to arrive before those shuttle times or plan to find accommodations for the night if you have to arrive later! We’re glad to answer related questions, and we’ll be providing you with possible housing resources in the near future.

Even before you’re making those travel plans, we’d love to see you starting to connect with one another.

Our Discord server is the perfect place to introduce yourself, stay updated on camp news and events, and meet your summer team before camp begins!

Discover camp traditions, engage in fun activities like trivia nights, and explore professional development resources to grow your career. We’ll send out a new edition of The Huddle every couple of months to keep you informed on the latest staff news at Falling Creek Camp. We’re so grateful for the part you play in our mission, and we look forward to serving along side you this coming summer. Behold!
